Art Updates: Sea Life DRAFT

I couldn't decide if I was going to post this piece at all for a long time. I think I finished it in May or June?

I had no idea what to do with it for a long time. It started as a digital painting, and I really, really wanted to make it work that way, but I just couldn't get enough depth into the piece. I think if I really wanted it to work as a painting I was at the point where I'd need to start over, but instead I slapped a lineart layer over top of my paint instead. It kind of works?

Yeah, it's a little weird to me that the figure stands out so much more than the background, but if I touched the fish with lines it kind of ruined the feeling of something that lives as a part of the water. I really like the color hinting at the fish at least!
